What a browser does

A browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge sends requests to web servers and turns HTML, CSS, and JavaScript into interactive pages.

A website can usually see the browser family and version reported in the user-agent data. This value can be changed or reduced, so it is a technical hint rather than reliable identification.
