HTTPS
The encrypted form of HTTP used to protect data between a browser and a website.
What HTTPS protects
HTTPS uses TLS encryption to protect requests and responses while they travel between a browser and a server. It also lets the browser verify the website certificate.
HTTPS helps prevent interception and modification in transit, but it does not make a website trustworthy by itself or hide the destination domain and IP address from every network intermediary.
